Freelance graphic designer, AI From Zero
She is a graphic designer who works freelance, and she is careful to be precise about where things stand. "it's not a business yet". For now, it is her craft, her clients, and the many small tasks that come with them.
Anyone who has worked as a freelance designer knows those tasks. Next to the creative work sit the repeat jobs: design chores, social media posts, the steady upkeep that keeps everything moving. They take time, and they are rarely the part anyone loves.
She wanted AI to take on some of that load. So she joined AI From Zero, Arthi's 1:1 program for getting started with AI.
Setting up AI tools can feel heavy before you begin. It sounds technical. It sounds slow. It sounds like the kind of thing that eats an afternoon and leaves you with nothing to show for it.
Her first session went straight to the work. Arthi helped her set up Codex and add plugins, so the AI could connect to the tools it would need. Then they turned to her own week, and started automating the design and social tasks that fill it.
Step by step, the session added up, and she noticed it herself. "Thank you. I've learned another thing today."
The biggest shift was in how the work felt. What could have been a grind turned out to be something else.
"it's really not that tedious. I think it's easier."
That small sentence is the start of something. When a tool stops feeling tedious, you start reaching for it. You try it on the next task, and then the one after that. That is how automation really takes hold in a freelancer's week: not in one big leap, but one task at a time.
Her story is still at its very beginning, with more classes ahead. There are no big numbers to report yet, and it would not be honest to pretend otherwise. What there is, is a designer who now has Codex running, plugins in place, and the first of her design and social tasks on their way to being automated.
That matters for where she is headed. A freelancer who wants to grow needs time, and time is exactly what those small, repeated jobs take away. Every task the AI picks up is a little more room for the creative work, and for whatever comes next.
For other creatives who suspect AI will be complicated, her first session offers a gentler picture. It is not that tedious. It might even be easier than you think.
